Event Details for Photographers
THANK YOU, Photographers! It's impossible to be everywhere at once during this event so we count on you to capture it for all to relive these magical memories for years to come. Even if you've photographed with us before please read this info thoroughly. The main goal: Enjoy the day!
Before the Event
Let us know you're planning on being there by emailing Odessa, if you haven't already, with the following info:

Full name, phone number and email address.

Size t-shirt in unisex sizing

Music preferences (we'll do our best to match you with some bands you'll enjoy!)

Any time constraints

If you'd like a parking spot in the Short School lot (no ins or outs between 12-5)

Your photography website link, Insta and Facebook handles so we can tag you.
You will get an email with your assignment the week before the event and a printed assignment with your t-shirt and badge. The goal is to document every band on every porch which is a BIG task! All the musicians are here voluntarily so it's a nice perk for them to have photos by our talented volunteer photographers that they can post and use in their own promotions.
Once you've documented the assigned band at any time you can move around and take photos of whatever inspires you.
You will have a break or two depending on the number of bands we end up with this year.

All Volunteer Orientation
Our generous Volunteer Program sponsor, Morley Fredericks, is hosting us on their back patio on
Tuesday, September 15th
from 6:30-8:00pm
824 E St. in San Rafael
This where you’ll get your volunteer t-shirt, All Access badge, parking pass if you want one and you will sign your waiver.
Streets closed 12-5pm. No car movement - Photographers included!

For safety, streets close to all cars at 11am but to bands and photographers at 12pm. Simply tell or show your parking pass to the security guard and/or volunteer at the barricade that you are a photographer and they will let you through until 12. After that no car movement in the zone will be allowed.

If you need to leave between 12 and 5pm, park outside "the zone".

Parking will get more difficult as the event goes on so we recommend getting there early. Neighborhood parking is usually available before 12.

The parking lot at Casa Mañana will be available and a short walk in if you need it.
The "Musicians' Lounge" is back and you get access!

Go to 234 Bayview wearing your All Access Badge for free lunch, free poster prints, water, drinks, snacks, a bathroom and a chill break spot.

Made-to-order tacos from 12-2, and freshly made sandwiches until 5!

Check in at the table upon entry please. This is for musicians, photographers and EMT only. Not all volunteers or other general public can go here.
Photo Goals

10 minimum GOOD shots of each assigned band. Maybe you take 20 or 50 but deliver 10 or 20!

Volunteers, food vendors, attendees, dogs, kids (please ask parent if taking a photo of a specific child)

Crowded streets and sponsors

People dancing and enjoying!
On Facebook and Insta? Promote, document and tag us @srporchfest!

We reserve the right to use any photos you take for promoting this event in the future and will give you credit.

We also give these photos to anyone online and ask them to give your credit.
Join the After Party!!

Come get a post-fest cocktail with the SRPF crew and volunteers at California Gold! It's a short walk from the zone to 848 B Street. Get discounted drinks for all musicians! It’s a fun way to chill out after the event.

After the Event - PLEASE do these important steps

CULL your images down to only the good ones that you're proud of.

RESIZE the images to 6-15mb at most for the sake of our website and storage space.

RENAME the files in this format:
SRPF26-BandName-PhotographerName-FileNumber.jpg
For example SRPF26-EveningHawks-OdessaShekar-0001.jpg

DELIVER files via shared folder of your choice to odessashekar@gmail.com or drop off at Odessa's mailbox at 349 G St. within 2 weeks of the event.

Your photos will show up on our Photo Archive page and in social media posts and printed material with credit given to you.
